Job Description

Cummins is looking for a talented Director Supply Chain Transformation to join our team specializing in leading, managing and strategically directing the project management department activities for assigned functional areas at Cummins.  This role can be based in Columbus, Indiana or remotely at your home office location with some required travel.

 

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

* Partners with business leaders to identify short and long-term projects to be undertaken; directs needs analysis in collaboration with business leaders to determine project timelines; oversees analysis, project identification, design, budget, communication, and integration; approves business workflow and project design.

* Directs the assessment of business needs, Project Manager capabilities and available project budgets.

* Secures senior leadership sponsorship of projects and approval of objectives; keeps business leadership apprised of project status and developments; monitors project success measures and understands the status of specific projects and assignments.

* Develops, leads, and motivates project management staff; sets goals in training and development, performance, and career planning. Formulates annual operational and financial budgets as they relate to unit objectives.

* Coaches and mentors Project Management Managers and Project Managers; delegates project assignments based on availability, ability, and developmental needs; provides developmental feedback to team members; coaches other Project Managers in managing teams.

* Partners with Business Supply Chain Leaders and Business Leaders to determine business imperatives and supply chain responses

* Leads transformation road mapping and planning to support strategic supply chain objectives

* Leads or supports major supply chain program transformation efforts (e.g. DBU/AM integration

* Drives E2E supply chain capability improvement programs

* Leads and coordinates regional supply chain transformation teams/leaders and the Supply Chain Transformation organization globally

* Supports Functional supply chain leaders to develop functional capability standards and priorities

* Partners with Business Process Transformation to align on portfolio priorities and E2E process transformation

* Partners with Supply Chain Strategy, Design, and Solutions to deliver Supply Chain Transformation

Education/Licenses/Experience

* College, university, or equivalent degree required

* Green Belt certification required

* This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations

* Deep and cross-functional /E2E supply chain capability, process, and leading practice knowledge

* Breadth of knowledge of CMI businesses, including supply chain design, customer requirements, key supply chain capabilities, and differentiated business requirements

* Significant experience, including managerial and budgetary experience, required

* Broad business knowledge required
