Full-Time Director of Corporate Communications

The Director, Corporate Communications will be responsible for developing and implementing the Cable One family of brands public relations and corporate positioning initiatives, focusing on external stakeholders including local, national and trade media, customers, government and investors. This position will report directly to the Vice President, Communications Strategy, and includes regular interaction with other executive leadership. The person in this role will drive strategic, proactive corporate communications programs to enhance corporate visibility, thought-leadership, community awareness and coverage of the Company that are aligned with the Cable One family of brands purpose, ambition, and corporate citizenship. This individual will partner with teams across the company to ensure alignment and consistency of messaging with external audiences.

Location: Phoenix preferred, but we are open to remote work.

What you will do to contribute to the company’s success

In collaboration with VP, Communications Strategy, develop strategic plans and initiatives for engaging with local, national and industry media, customers, and government contacts to properly position and build the Cable One family of brands in the communities we serve

Lead the development of corporate communication materials on behalf of Company, including press releases, brochures, presentations, Web content, key message documents and FAQs, as well as manage the review process of external communications from Company departments and brands.

Oversee Social Media strategy and execution across the Cable One family of brands.

Along with the Public Relations Manager, serve as a spokesperson for the company and proactively pitch and gain placement within national, business, and local newspapers and maintain key corporate relationships with reporters.

Liaise with Investor Relations to develop and publish external communication materials including press releases, quarterly earnings scripts, corporate decks, etc.

Provide strategic and crisis communication advice and guidelines to executive leadership as well as the public relations implications of key business decisions in crisis situations.

Implement measurement tools and analytics to determine effectiveness of overall reputation and communications programs and initiatives. Evaluate results through measurable objectives and indicators designed to demonstrate value; adapt communications strategies as appropriate.

Maintains chart of accounts and master data structure within our ERP Systems.

Takes on other duties needed to help drive our Purpose, fulfill our Brand Principles, and abide by our Organization’s Values.

Qualifications

Prior experience in journalism and/or freelance writing is preferred

10+ years of corporate communications experience with a publicly traded company

Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university in journalism, public relations, mass communications or related field; advanced degree preferred

Proven track record securing strategic media coverage and executing successful PR campaigns with measurable results

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrating the ability to clearly communicate information to multiple audiences

Must be highly organized, detail oriented and execute on a number of projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, acting with urgency and accuracy

Dynamic team player and positive, proactive attitude with great interpersonal skills; ability to brief senior leaders, foster relationships with internal and external teams, and be solid support for immediate team members

Significant experience working with and influencing senior teams/executives

Strategic agility, able to balance proactive/planning with reactive elements of the position

Ability to identify areas for process and systems innovation and implement change that will enhance the overall effectiveness of the team
