POSITION SUMMARY:

Americares is seeking a talented event and experiential marketer to define and implement a strategy for Americares virtual and live events and experiential marketing. The Director, Experiential Marketing will be a dynamic, driven self-starter and demonstrated team leader and who will join a results-oriented, collaborative Marketing and Communications department. The department is responsible for Americares global messaging and storytelling, branding and visual identity; developing compelling written and visual content; executing successful marketing and public relations campaigns; supporting the Development team’s communications with partners and donors; overseeing all digital, web and social media platforms and content; and producing and managing engaging and innovative virtual and live events to recruit and/or engage donors and drive revenue.

The Director, Experiential Marketing will lead an internal team and external vendor and agency partnerships to support the growth and development of the Americares brand and its visibility, inspire existing and recruit new donors to drive transformational revenue growth, engage individual and corporate volunteers, present Americares as a though leader in live and virtual event ecosystems and inspire staff at monthly and annual celebrations. The position will lead the development and oversight of experiential marketing campaigns, virtual events and traditional live events (when conditions permit), donor and influencer trips into the field and employee and volunteer appreciation activities.

Reporting to the CMO, the Director, Experiential Marketing will collaborate closely with the broader Marketing and Communications department and other departments within the organization, including Development and Global Programs, Americares influencer and celebrity ambassadors, as well as the board of directors and leadership council.

Your role will be critical in helping the department more effectively serve internal clients and more deeply engage existing and prospective donors to help the organization deliver critical health care programs for those in need.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Leadership of Experiential Marketing department, including leading and organizing, managing role sort, coaching, people development and mentoring;
-Responsible for the successful planning, production, implementation and ROI analysis of all Americares in-person and virtual events and brand experiences, predominantly in the U.S., but including developing guidelines and best practice for Americares international field offices;
-Accountable for leading the development of event themes, custom visual identity, tech and other innovations for each brand experience;
-Primary relationship manager with existing and prospective agency and vendor partners across traditional event production and management, digital and live fundraising, virtual event production;
-Develop project briefs and RFPs, evaluate proposals and negotiate contracts with vendors and public speakers or hosts in adherence with Americares procurement guidelines;
-Manage all aspects of event timelines, budgets and spending;
-Plan and execute influencer, VIP donor international trips to the field to see Americares work;
-Collaborate closely with Development department, including individual philanthropy, corporate partnerships and direct response departments to ensure events accomplish shared business goals including event strategy, donor and prospect target objectives, communication strategy, habitual innovation, KPI goals and measurement.

QUALIFICATIONS:
-5-7 years of related experience in event strategy, management and execution and design with 3-5 years of people management responsibility
-Deep familiarity and comfort with the technical components of event production
-Expert knowledge of events strategies (online, in-person and hybrid), tactics, best practices and emerging practices
-Demonstrated experience managing complex, high-leverage high-profile events involving senior management, VIP donors/customers and experience personalization
-Strong analytic skills with clear ability to link event plans to business results and company goals
-Wide network of industry, agency, and vendor relationships to tap into as additional capabilities are needed
-A problem solver, able to deal with ambiguity and quick changes of direction as needed
-Strong project management and adherence to timelines and budgets
-Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing, communications, event management or related
-Strong written and oral communication/presentation skills
-Experience with project management platforms (e.g. Basecamp, Smartsheet) a plus
-Ability to handle multiple tasks, strong attention to detail, adhere to deadlines, and work well under pressure both independently and as part of a team
-Strong interest in international relief and development and health
-Demonstrated ability to work across all levels of an organization
-Bilingual language skills a plus
-Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States
