Salary

Are you organised and have experience of planning and scheduling? Do you enjoy and have experience of dealing with stakeholders? If so, we have opportunities available across DE&S/SDA working within the Project Controls function as Planner/Schedulers.

The Project Controls function has a number of diverse opportunities for Planner/Schedulers to support and lead the planning process and the scheduling activities of a wide variety of projects within DE&S and SDA. As the Project Planner / Scheduler you will be expected to (but not be limited to):

• Gather key planning / scheduling artefacts to build robust baselines in accordance with internal policy processes and instructions
• Review supplier schedules to understand monthly status / forecast for remaining work and reflect updates within internal schedules
• Collect and analyse monthly internal schedule progression with project team stakeholders and factor these status adjustments in the schedule.
• Monitor progress and resources against the Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB) highlighting variances and advising on potential corrective or recovery actions
• Attend management, project team, supplier and customer meetings to advise on progress/variance and ensure that schedules are being maintained and updated as required
• Ensure monthly performance reporting is in accordance with the internal reporting drumbeat
• Maintain the schedule PMB under change control and develop ‘what if’ schedule analysis against change requests
• Conduct maturity assessments of schedules and make recommendations of areas of improvement
• Review internal schedules to ensure that internal Planning and Scheduling policies are adhered to.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for the following:

• Running or supporting planning workshops to define schedule assumptions and estimates
• Developing, managing and progressing schedules
• Have experience of planning methodologies and implementation into projects
• Updating and providing performance data (including supplier) and clearly communicating to key stakeholders to drive delivery and make informed business decisions.
• Have an understanding of wider Project Controls and other functions in order to ensure data is captured correctly
• Be able to build strong working relationships and work collaboratively with Project Team stakeholders across all levels of the organisation
• Ability to generate and interpret data and under the guidance of the Lead Scheduler / Project Controls Manager communicate clearly to stakeholders at different levels

• Competent in project schedule development and maintenance of schedules
• Relevant planning and scheduling experience gained from current or previous role
