Freedom for Immigrants – Posted by sierrakraft Anywhere

Job Description

Freedom for Immigrants (FFI) is devoted to abolishing immigration detention, while ending the isolation of people currently suffering in this profit-driven system. Since 2012, FFI has been monitoring conditions inside immigration detention facilities through a network of 4,500 volunteers who visit immigrants in ICE detention centers throughout the country, while pushing for individual releases and site-specific closures. Freedom for Immigrants also operates a national immigration bond fund, which works to secure the freedom of people in detention by paying and posting their immigration bond and providing post release support. In the policy arena, we work alongside local and national partners to support federal and state-level policies that call on the government to divest from immigration detention and instead invest in community-based systems of care that strengthen immigrant communities—a cornerstone of our vision for how to build a world without detention.
