CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE

Job Summary

The Customer Service Representative, under general supervision of the Director of Marketing, serves as a virtual destination ambassador, communicating with visitors via chat, email and phone to provide destination information and respond to visitor inquiries. This position also provides a wide range of administrative support for the department.

 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Manage Experience Scottsdale’s online live chat tool
  • Answer all incoming visitor center phone calls
  • Respond to visitor voicemail messages/emails
  • Provide accurate and concise Scottsdale and Arizona travel information
  • Manage the “Promote This” folder to ensure that the Experience Scottsdale online event calendar is updated with members’ most current events
  • Assist with adding member offers and events to website
  • Manage member outreach and collateral material deliveries
  • Manage the department’s shipping needs

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Required:

  • Proven excellence in customer service and administrative support
  • Proficient with internet and Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Strong technical skills; ability to quickly and efficiently pick up new software such as website chat features, CRM, CMS, etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Organized, self-motivated and ability to work independently

Preferred:

  • Scottsdale area/tourism industry knowledge

 

Education & Experience

Minimum of 3 years of customer service experience. Experience in the hospitality industry preferred. Administrative/support experience also preferred.

 

Work Environment & Physical Demands

This job will primarily be remote with occasional work in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment and requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

 

Position Type & Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

We work with meeting planners from all over the world to book their business in Scottsdale. We spread the word about the great things in Scottsdale by garnering media coverage both nationally and internationally. Plus, we teach travel agents how to sell our destination to their clients and work to get Scottsdale information in brochures and promotions.

 

We are a 501(c)(6) nonprofit, private company that enhances the local community by promoting the Scottsdale area as a luxury destination for meetings, events and leisure travel. The organization has contracts with the city of Scottsdale and town of Paradise Valley to conduct destination marketing efforts on behalf of these municipalities. Experience Scottsdale has 35 full- and part-time employees, along with a volunteer board of directors composed of local hospitality/tourism and business industry leaders.
