LWTech serves the Eastside and is located within the city of Kirkland, which is situated on the eastern shore of Lake Washington. Kirkland is home to companies such as GoDaddy, Google, Astronics and EvergreenHealth, and the college is within minutes from Microsoft and Nintendo.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Custodial Supervisor is an exempt position reporting to the Manager, Facilities and Operations. The Supervisor sets priorities, coordinates and schedules cleaning and sanitizing functions for all campus buildings. Ensures campus environments are healthy and accessible. Supervisor develops schedules for 24hr custodial shifts and facilitates team communication among them. Custodial Supervisor oversees employee hiring and selection process, employee probation, training and performance evaluations. Works under general supervision.

• Washing windows, walls and furniture

• Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms

• Use of commercial cleaning chemicals

• Operating cleaning equipment

• Employing effective cleaning & time management strategies


• Supervise Custodial Work Plans

• Maintain custodial head count

• Approve timecards

• Organize shifts for highest & best outcomes

• Inspect, Monitor & evaluate quality of work

• Coach individuals

• Write & conduct formal evaluations

• Maintain Sub On Call roster


• Ownership of Assigned Budget Lines

• Prepare budget recommendations

• Purchase supplies & equipment

• Monitor expenses

Minimum Qualifications:

• Demonstrated success in supervisory leadership of a housekeeping, janitorial or custodial team

• Knowledge of custodial cleaning methods, materials, equipment; knowledge of green cleaning processes, chemicals and techniques

• Knowledge of application and use of personal protective equipment

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook

• Strong conflict resolution and problem- solving skills

• Ability to work effectively and positively with diverse populations

• Excellent written and verbal communications skills

• Ability to bend and lift up to 50 pounds and climb ladders and scaffolding

• Possess valid Washington State Driver’s license

Pay, Benefits & Work Schedule

Salary is $4,917 per month. This is a full-time, 40 hours per week position. Typically work hours are Monday-Friday from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. Ocassional evening and weekend hours ma be required.

Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability and other insurance benefits are provided as currently administered under Public Employees Benefits Board, State Retirement Plan and a Deferred Compensation Plan; sick leave accrues at 1 day effective upon employment and vacation accrues at 25 days per year. We also offer 13 paid holidays and 4 paid personal days effective upon employment.
