Job Description

DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Managing, developing and implementing projects specifically events such as conferences, executive travel or business-related entertainment and other various executive assistance assignments with varying levels of complexity and size in the assigned functional area.
• Building and maintaining effective working relationship with C suite level Cummins executives and stakeholders to facilitate business travel, hospitality and entertainment requirements.
• Leading multiple hospitality projects from inception to completion; facilitating planning sessions with internal stakeholders to determine the scope and objectives of each event; working with business stakeholders to establish performance goals; designing project plan, developing timeline, identifying project milestones and tracking performance against performance goals and timeline.
• Work effectively with both internal and external vendors to gather information required for events such as availability, budgets, bidding process, facilities/capabilities depending on project or related event requirements.
• Plans and monitor project budget, conducts research and analysis then provide input into the design and development of project plans and timelines.
• Identifying and assigning appropriate resources to accomplish various project tasks; guides and coaches team members through various stages of the project; providing developmental feedback to team members

REQUIRED SKILLS:
Skills
• Excellent communications skills; being able to work effectively with C suite level executives on multiple project requirement simultaneously.
• Schedule Management – Managing multiple executive schedules using the recommended project management tools and processes to drive completion within the agreed timeline.
• A background within event management or executive assistance with experience in planning, scheduling and executing business, travel or hospitality assignments is advantageous.
• Customer focus – Building strong and effective internal and external relationships and to drive customer-centric solutions for all stakeholders.
• Ability to work under pressure whilst ensuring a smooth and seamless execution of projects, providing an outstanding executive assistance experience for all stakeholders by using a high level of personal initiative.
• Project Issue and Risk Management – Manages the process to identify, assess and prioritize issues and risks using recommended tools and processes to minimize, monitor, and control the probability and/or impact of negative events or to maximize the realization of positive events.
• Knowledge of the local Indianapolis dining/hospitality industry with the ability to make appropriate recommendations for business related events when required.

Education, Licenses, Certifications
College, university, or equivalent degree required.

Experience
Intermediate level of relevant work experience, including team leadership experience, required.

The three main objectives of this role are to: Provide full-service event management for off-site events on behalf of the Cummins executives and Board of Directors; Advocate for and enhance the customer’s experience; Initiate special projects to remain relevant to the business.

5 years of experience in the hospitality industry with a bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, communications, business or a comparable program required.
