Full-Time Corporate Campaigns Coordinator

Animal Equality is seeking an organised, adaptable and energetic individual, with a strategic mindset and unbeatable work ethic. With a proven track record of overseeing large-scale campaigns, cultivating relationships and mobilising others, the successful candidate will be expected to coordinate pressure campaigns to push major restaurant chains, retailers, food service companies, food manufacturers and producers to adopt and strengthen farmed animal welfare policies.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
– Conduct research and strategise: working closely with the Corporate Outreach Manager, identify key priorities and target organisations, develop a campaign strategy and determine what the calls for action will be. Research key details about each target company, including: corporate structure, history, animal welfare standards, leadership, social media handles and affiliates.
– Project manage efficiently: plan each peaceful demonstration effectively, overseeing the timeline, agreed budget and appropriate spending, production of briefing materials and artwork and logistics. Ensure the smooth running of your projects, schedule travel and submit expense reports.
– Supervise and mobilise: develop, empower and mobilise a volunteer action network who will be on hand to support our campaigns and take action, whether that’s writing to corporate decision-makers, posting on social media or attending a demonstration. Ensure that all volunteers, staff members and external supporters are adequately supervised during all corporate campaign activities.
– Cultivate relationships and manage relations: forge connections with celebrities and influencers sympathetic to our ask; liaise with members of the press, acting as a media spokesperson during demonstrations; and draft letters to company board members, shareholders and stakeholders.
– Oversee public awareness campaigns: using online and offline platforms, publicise campaign activities and raise awareness of the issues at hand. With relevant colleagues, develop websites and landing pages, draft and post petitions and campaign updates, create Facebook adverts, produce and post blogs, sign open letters and promote campaigns on social media. Facilitate video development to support our campaigns by drafting concepts and narration scripts, collaborating with voiceover actors and aiding video posting on YouTube.
– Cooperate effectively: keep abreast of current activities, trends, findings and progress in the campaign space and collaborate with other groups working toward the same goals.
Maximise project efficiency: evaluate and measure program efficacy and effectiveness, suggesting areas for improvement. Keep a record of successes and numbers of animals affected; add this data onto the UK website and draft informational reports for supporters, granting bodies and other interested stakeholders.

– Minimum of two years of experience in public affairs, corporate affairs, government relations, issue advocacy, grassroots campaigning, political organising, communications, psychology, sociology, marketing, business, or related field.
– Superior written and oral communication skills.
– Willingness and ability to travel when required and to work outside of usual office hours, on occasion, for peaceful protests and demonstrations.
– Ability to maintain confidentiality.
– Thorough knowledge of farmed animal issues.
– Professional appearance and adherence to a vegan lifestyle.
– Commitment to the objectives of the organisation.
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Docs.
