Job Description

We are looking for a talented Controls Engineer to join our team specializing in the Engineer Business Operations division. This position is primarily based in Jamestown, NY.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
• Develops all aspects of control systems, equipment, and machinery.
• Develops and designs control systems; develops and implements bench tests; alters/ Modifies/ upgrades existing software and equipment to ensure that sensors and actuators are functioning according to specifications; supports and debugs complex problems and change requests.
• Leads implementation, improvements, and maintenance of Manufacturing Execution System (MES) used for part tracking and machine tracking.
• Reviews and updates electrical schematics/ Documentation.
• Leads the effort in standardizing automation, like vision system, COBOTS/ ROBOTS, CNC controllers, Controls communication protocols etc.
• Is well versed with the various industry safety standards as applied to machine building/ modification and automation equipment. is able to correctly interpret, train and communicate specifications as demanded in the standards.
• Prepares cost estimates; compiles required cost and equipment information, and writes and reviews appropriation requests.
• Investigates problems and requirements of projects, and develops plans for solutions in line with economic, personnel, and environmental considerations.
• May be responsible for the installation and technical support of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) based hardware and software.
• Coaches and mentors less experienced Controls Engineers.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
• College, university, or equivalent degree required.
• This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
• Intermediate level of relevant work experience required.
