We’re looking for a Corporate Controller who will work with various department heads on business processes that impact system transactions and operational efficiency through holistic approach with attention to detail suggesting changes where needed. As the Corporate Controller, you will own corporate accounting and financial reporting, operational accounting, financial processes and system. This role is ideal for a flexible, detailed, and high-energy finance professional who likes to work in a scaling company. You will have broad responsibility, the opportunity to improve processes and build a growing business while working cross-functionally with groups like Manufacturing, Procurement, Marketing, and Technology.
What you can expect within the first 1-3 months: As you familiarize yourself with the company, you will prepare the company’s consolidated financial statements, on a monthly/quarterly basis, in accordance with IFRS. You will maintain, develop and analyse your accurate and timely reporting of balance sheets, income statements and profit & loss by department within the entire organization.
What you can expect within the first 3-6 months: You will work with various department heads on business processes that impact system transactions and operational efficiency through holistic approach with attention to detail suggesting changes where needed.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures the preparation of the company’s consolidated financial statements, on a monthly basis, in accordance with IFRS;
  • Ensures the reliability of the financial information contained in the balance sheet, income statement and cash flow statement on a consolidated basis by preparing and/or reviewing key financial statement items;
  • Monitor project spending throughout the organization;
  • Provide financial information and analysis to satisfy requests from operations, marketing, technology and R&D;
  • Analyse Payroll Loading Data and prepare / monitor receivable and inventory accounts;
  • Implementation of internal control procedures; Ensures the preparation of files for the auditors for quarterly reviews and the annual audit;
  • Acts as a resource person for the accounting team and throughout the organization;
  • Build out the technical accounting capability of the finance team;
  • Work with Planning & Procurement, R&D, Marketing, Operations and Technology on business processes that impact system transactions and operational efficiency through holistic approach with attention to detail;

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Finance;Professional designation of Chartered Professional Accountant;
  • Prior experience with a Big 4 firm;Prior experience with IFRS;Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken in French and English;
  • You have a proven ability to work on interdisciplinary teams with parallel projects and agendas on tight deadlines;
  • Experience solving unique problems, thinking outside of the box, and experimenting on new solutions;
  • Highly adaptable and flexible in a fast-paced environment;
  • Experience working in a high-growth start-up environment;
  • Controller experience in industries such as Manufacturing Retail, Technology or Distribution with a medium to large company (> $250M revenue);
