Full-Time Commercial Leader – Electrification

Job Description

We are looking for a talented Commercial Leader to join our team specializing in Electrification for our #NewPower Business Unit. This role is role based in Columbus, IN (hybrid or offsite option available).


In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

* Responsible for new business growth opportunities for our Electrification business.

* Leads go to market for Cummins’ new electrified products and powertrain.

* Builds key business initiatives and plans in collaboration with Sales, Marketing, and product leaders to determine strategies targeting growth.

* Uses the business development strategy, knowledge of the product pipeline and local analyses of opportunity to set specific business development goals.

* Oversees the success of account strategies and plans. Collaborates on/coaches adjustments to strategies and plans based on increased understanding of customers and opportunities.

* Leads efforts with internal stakeholders and functions, including New Product Development, to increase our ability to develop new business.

* Champions initiatives to grow the business through the addition of new customers and/or accelerated adoption of new products.



To be successful in this role you will need the following:

* Bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing, technical or a related subject required.

* Minimum of 10 to 15 years in a similar role with minimum 5 years in a leadership role managing business development or product development teams.

* Experience leading business development activities for new customers from the first meeting through delivery of the product in the following industries:

+ Battery or traction components,

+ Electric or fuel cell electric drivetrain,

+ Automotive working with large end-users or fleets,

+ Technology companies focused on the commercial vehicle space (like autonomous driving of charging infrastructure).

* Strong knowledge of electrical commercial vehicle and industrial power technologies.

* Strategic mindset – Seeing ahead to future possibilities and translating them into breakthrough strategies.

* Manages complexity – Making sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems.

* Business insight – Applying knowledge of business and the marketplace to advance the organization’s goals.

* Financial acumen – Interpreting and applying understanding of key financial indicators to make better business decisions.

* Plans and aligns – Planning and prioritizing work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals.

* Builds networks – Effectively building formal and informal relationship networks inside and outside the organization.

Interpersonal savvy – Relating openly and comfortably with diverse groups of people


Compensation and Benefits


Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
