Job Description

Mallinckrodt’s Summer Internship Program begins June 1, 2020, running for 10 weeks until August 7, 2020. Students who are interested in these paid internships can expect to work between 29 and 40 hours per week, onsite at a Mallinckrodt location.
The Commercial Excellence group is the primary support team for all of the marketing and sales teams needs at Mallinckrodt. The areas of support included within this team are:
• Marketing Services: Product Review Committee (PRC), Marketing Material Management and Print Productions
• Marketing Operations: Meeting Planning Speakers Bureau and Trade Shows
• Sales Operations: Fleet, Credentialing, CRM and Sampling
• Incentive Compensation: Sales force incentive program, territory alignment and roster management
The work of this group enables the business to market and sell Mallinckrodt products to healthcare providers in order to provide patients access to our medicine with the intent of better health outcomes.
There are multiple projects associated with this internship and below you will find a high level description of each:
Marketing Services:
• Assist with building a claims library, utilizing the PromoMats tool, to help support the PRC process
• Assist with quality checking the reference library in PromoMats and rectifying issues
• Support the promotional material development process for product label updates and print production
Sales Operations:
• Update the training materials for Veeva, our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool; with appropriate screen shots and step by step instruction guide
• Record newly updated Veeva CRM training
• Develop a sharepoint site for field communications of training resources
• Creating FAQ for the field of Territory Alignments and run reports in Veeva
Marketing Operations:
• Meeting planning for upcoming product launch
• Creating SOPs for Trade Shows
Incentive Compensation:
• Review territory mapping and optimization
Qualifications:
• Previous professional or internship experience preferred
• Complies with all relevant related guidelines, standards and regulations of the Company
• Under supervision, conducts research of pharmaceutical products and medical devices
• Interprets results from clinical studies, market research, and other information and creates appropriate documents based on specific task assignments
• Assists the Team with the development of content for a students workshop to facilitate interview/resume-building skills
• Completes a final presentation as part of internship requirement
• Collaboratively and effectively communicates with various interdepartmental stakeholders; including Legal Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, R & D, Business Development Leadership, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Service
Minimum Requirements:
• Candidates with a scientific / business background
• Currently pursuing an undergraduate or advanced degree (Masters, MBA, etc.)
• Previous experience in the pharmaceutical industry is preferred but not required
• Clinical/scientific understanding with knowledge of project management and marketing and field services and operations preferred
• Writing skills required to communicate technical/clinical/scientific information to other stakeholders
• Self-transportation is required
Skills/Competencies:
• Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Problem solving, project management and communication skills are necessary, as is the ability to collaborate and operate within a team
• Strong business acumen with an aptitude for assimilating complex clinical and scientific information
• Excellent communication and time management skills
• Demonstration of problem solving and analytical skills
• Committed and self-motivated team player. Ability to work with minimal supervision when provided with projects and assignment briefings
