Cohort Coordinator

Temporary, Full-Time, Position is for 7 months. Any extension is funding dependent.

Reports To: Executive Director


Issue One is a nonpartisan, nonprofit advocacy organization that is uniting Republicans, Democrats, and independents in the movement for political reform. Issue One’s ReFormers Caucus of more than 200 former members of Congress, governors, and Cabinet officials is the largest bipartisan coalition of its kind ever assembled to advocate for solutions to strengthen our democracy. Issue One is building a multi-year initiative to win game-changing federal legislation that gets big money out of politics and fixes our broken political system.


The Cohort Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that Issue One is an active participant in the “Fix Congress” Cohort, an informal coalition of nonprofit and advocacy organizations working to support the success of the Select Committee on the Modernization of Congress. The position will also support the efforts of the Rebuild Congress Initiative (RCI), a project of Issue One.

The Cohort Coordinator will share information and opportunities with Cohort members, and coordinate activities, messaging, and deliverables. The Cohort Coordinator will ensure that Issue One and organizations are “running on all cylinders” for activities aimed at enhancing the success and meaningful outcomes of the Select Committee on the Modernization of Congress. The Cohort Coordinator will report directly to the Executive Director of Issue One and will be part of the Policy & Programs department.


● Help organize and prepare for meetings with the Fix Congress Cohort

● Track and share updates on Cohort activities

● Attend and summarize events and briefings related to the Select Committee’s work

● Facilitate outreach to Members of Congress and their offices regarding the Select Committee’s work and other efforts to “modernize” Congress, assisting with scheduling Hill visits and preparing background research as needed

● Assist with research and written products related to the Select Committee


● Demonstrated interest in American politics and a willingness to work across the aisle

● Exceptionally strong written and oral communications skills

● Demonstrated ability to be entrusted with sensitive information; conducts daily activities with the utmost professionalism and integrity

● Demonstrated ability to manage details, solve problems and follow through on assignments with minimal day-to-day supervision

● Courteous and professional in outgoing communications

● Strong personal work ethic and time management skills


This will be a temporary, full-time position based in Washington, D.C. that is funding dependent after the first year.

Salary & Benefits

$42,000-$48,000 . Issue One offers a competitive benefits package for all full-time employees.
