Job Description
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS for ENGINEER
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited engineering school
• A valid driver’s license
• Knowledge of the principles, practices, methods and techniques of civil engineering as applied to the design, construction and maintenance of public works infrastructure.
• Knowledge of engineering methods and techniques as applied to urban hydrology, storm sewer hydraulics and nonpoint source pollution.
• Knowledgeable in proper selection of erosion and sediment control practices, including the installation and maintenance of the practices.
• Ability to take charge of engineering projects in the field or office.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships by communicating, verbally and in writing, with city employees and the public.
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
• Knowledge of land surveying methods and techniques
• Knowledge of AutoCAD.
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS for PRINCIPAL ENGINEER
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited engineering school.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of municipal engineering experience, including preparation and/or review of complex, comprehensive system plans.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Wisconsin is preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of the principles, practices, methods and techniques of civil engineering.
• Thorough knowledge of engineering methods and techniques as applied to the construction and maintenance of public works infrastructure.
• Ability to take charge of engineering projects in the field or office.
• Good verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
