There has never been a more exciting or challenging time to join the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) as we work towards a post-covid and post-Brexit future. The past few years have presented significant challenges for everyone and it has meant that the MHRA role as the regulator of medicines and medical devices across the UK has never been more important.

Recognised globally as an authority in its field, the agency plays a leading role in protecting and improving public health and supports innovation through scientific research and development.

The MHRA are looking for a Chief Finance Officer who will help shape the future of healthcare regulation in the UK at a time when the landscape is changing dramatically. The successful candidate needs to be someone who can see context and opportunity to create a better healthcare regulator for everyone. Someone who can drive delivery of financial strategies that will enable the Agency to transform and thrive in the future, competing against other global regulators. They will be part of the new Executive Committee and will help deliver MHRA’s ambitious change programme to improve patient health by enabling the earliest access and high quality supply of safe, effective and innovative medical products.

The successful candidate will be a strong leader with a proven track record of senior finance leadership gained within a complex organisation and an ability to build and motivate high performing, supportive, inclusive teams. They will have the ability to influence confidently and challenge effectively at board level, use strong analytical skills and the skills to communicate complex financial positions clearly and compellingly to senior internal and external stakeholders.
