Job Description

DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are looking for a dynamic Business Development Manager who will be responsible for developing new business opportunities within our power generation project business. You will think strategically by seeing the bigger picture and setting targets in order to develop and improve the business.

Expanding a valued portfolio of customers in the Netherlands and Belgium, this independent position sits within our distribution business unit, based in Dordrecht with home office possibility.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
• Research and identify new business opportunities – including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products and services – or new ways of reaching existing markets.
• Work closely with the project team to identify domestic project growth opportunities by leveraging their knowledge in this market. Collaborate with the design, project management, technical sales support, to determine the best value Cummins can offer to suit the needs of the customer.
• Work with suppliers on designing fit for purpose balance of plant items factoring in the best commercial. Ensure the scope offering is risk mitigated, technically, legally and financially.
• Demonstrate willingness to work with cross-border customers and project opportunities.
• Develop proposals for new projects business (e.g., with specific and significant new accounts or for programs to attract new customers or expand channel penetration). For specific accounts, conducts negotiations according to company guidelines and closes new sales.
• Attend seminars, conferences and events where appropriate and keep abreast of trends and changes in the business world, feeding back to the leadership local market trends.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
• Dutch and English on professional level.
• Preferably engineering degree or relevant sales and new business development work experience within power generation or any other technical business segments.
• Experience with B2B project sales is required.
• Must be willing to travel up to 50% to visit client sites. Driving license is required.
• Natural relationship building skills with ability to deal with complex business cases and desire to provide a high level of customer satisfaction.
