Full-Time Brand Engagement Specialist, Local Marketing – Los Angeles

As a Brand Engagement Specialist, Los Angeles, you will impact our long-term success by assisting with strategic direction of innovative programs that add value to the REI membership and drive new member growth. You’ll have the opportunity to manage a new kind of brand stewardship with the prospects, customers, employees, and partner organizations that contribute to a community of humans who live by our ethos: “A life outdoors is a life well lived.”

As a Local Brand Engagement Specialist, you will:

  • Assist Manager in development of local marketing and engagement plan in alignment with national plan
  • Integrate partnerships into local programming calendars.
  • Work collaboratively with all Field & HQ X-div partners to develop and deliver campaign and program details in a timely and effective manner.
  • Develop, cultivate, and build community partnerships beyond local grant portfolios.
  • Lead REI’s inclusion work in local communities
  • Produce virtual & in-person programs.
  • Track and manage local events budget with direction from LBEI Regional Manager.
  • Collect and reports data on partnerships and programs to track KPI’s, measurements and feedback.
  • Build positive and beneficial relationships with Retail and Experiences to ensure buy-in and support of Local Marketing Programs.
  • Manage local grant program.
  • Visit market stores on a regular basis to support relationship building and program execution.
  • Coordinate execution of national vendor program plans as directed by AHQ

Bring your passion and expertise:

  • 3+ years of experience with B.A. in Business or Marketing required, with a focus on regional marketing programs, earned media, social media marketing, community engagement programs (digital media with events & partnerships), preferred.
  • Experience in managing productive and mutually beneficial relationships with media organizations and social media channels.
  • 2+ years of experience in business-focused social media program execution.
  • 3+ years of experience in managing budgets.
  • Ability and strength influencing, leading, and collaborating with peers and remote groups to produce desired results.
  • Strong identification with REI’s customer service philosophy; ability to effectively resolve difficult customer issues.
  • Actively participates and collaborates with others on one’s own team and across REI for the achievement of business goals.
  • Flexible in one’s viewpoints and positions in order to support the direction taken by others at REI.
  • Uses business knowledge, innovative thinking, and sound judgment in the solution of problems or the pursuit of business opportunities.
  • Consolidates information from various sources including feedback from others to reach sound decisions.
  • Considers the ultimate impact of decisions and actions on internal and external customers.
  • Works smart by setting effective work goals, establishing priorities, and planning well in order to produce quality work.
  • Executes effectively by using resources efficiently, meeting deadlines, and keeping others informed of work plans and progress toward goals.
  • Clearly conveys and accurately receives information by a variety of methods and in various situations.
  • Builds rapport with all kinds of people inside and outside the organization.
  • Acts upon opportunities and involves and influences others in the accomplishment of worthwhile organizational goals.
  • Challenges the status quo, champions change and influences others to change.
  • Mid-level PC skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Publisher.
  • Mid-level experience with digital marketing platforms, preferred.
