Full-Time Base Engine Component Engineer – 2200018J
Job Description
We are looking for a talented Base Engine Component Engineer to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Engine Business Unit in Columbus, IN. This is a hybrid opportunity that requires 2-3 days a week onsite.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
• Ownership of platform base engine system and components development. Role includes but not limited to design, analysis, and validation of assigned component and/or system.
• Identify and define technical requirements for base engine components and subsystems based on product needs and program VPP
• Develop innovative component and subsystem designs, guided by Engineering Standard Work documents and external industry standards, and optimize designs within program requirements.
• Collaborate with internal suppliers and other teams on hardware development, and coordinate project timelines to meet program deliverables
• Facilitate external supplier discussions, manage design/development efforts and hardware procurement.
• Deliver designs, models, analyses, prints, Design Reviews, and engineering releases on-time per program schedules.
• Collaborate in a global team environment as local base engine system & sub-system expert, share learnings, and stay up to date with technologies and industry trends.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in design and product development
• Base engine (block, head, valve system, gear train and valve train) design & development experience beneficial
• Experience with design tools: CREO, Ansys, Integrity and preferably beginner level of GT SUITE
• Working knowledge of GD&T and Tolerance Stack up analysis preferred
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
