Full-Time Azure App Modernization Consultant

Join a team of passionate thought leaders in a dynamic and collaborative environment!  New Signature’s Azure and DevOps team is growing fast and we’re looking for our next Azure App Modernization Consultant to join us.


ROLE DESCRIPTION

What impact will you have in this role? 

Our Azure consultants provide guidance and hands-on Azure consulting to our customers. You will be helping companies with application modernization, providing guidance on creating and deploying to PaaS, Serverless, and Container environments and providing customers with the operational knowledge to continue to evolve their solution once in Azure.

What will you be doing day-to-day?

  • Work directly with New Signature clients to plan and design migrations to Azure.
  • Conduct workshop and whiteboarding sessions to identify requirements and explore design options.
  • Create a roadmap to modernize applications and move them to Azure, and execute on that roadmap.
  • Develop cloud governance plans using Microsoft’s Cloud Adoption Framework and New Signature’s NS:GO Digital Operating Model.
  • Use ARM, Azure Policy, Blueprints and other technologies as part of integrated deployment pipelines for new solutions in Azure
  • Contribute to internal R&D projects and participate in the broader community through speaking and/or blogging
  • Adherence to New Signature and Client Information Security policies shall be met and followed at all times

What experience do you need to be successful in this role?

  • Experience with at least one of the following cloud infrastructure automation and infrastructure as code technologies such as:
    • ARM templates
    • Azure Blueprint
    • PowerShell
    • Azure DevOps
    • Terraform
  • Experience with at least some of the following Azure technologies:
    • Azure AD
    • Azure Security Center
    • Azure Backup
    • Azure Monitor
    • AKS
  • Experience implementing Application Insights
  • Expertise working with development teams, on Azure patterns and architecture
  • Experience delivering POCs and convert them into production delivery
  • Experience building web applications with any of the following languages: C#, Java, Ruby, or JavaScript
  • Experience with on-premises infrastructure technologies
  • PaaS expertise (App Service, data, serverless)
  • Data management (SQL, Cosmos)
  • Design & advise on sizing and costs
  • Serverless automated deployments

What personality traits and other capabilities are important for this role?

  • Time management and time accounting is a must as this is a billable role for client delivery

What education and certification credentials are needed for this role?

  • Has passed or is close to passing at least one of the Azure technical certification exams exams (AZ103, AZ203, AZ500, AZ300 & AZ301, or AZ400)

Does the role require travel?

  •  Travel up to 30% of the time might be required.
