The Challenge
We are looking for a skilled mechanic to join our Winston-Salem Equipment Shop team.
In this role you will:
    • Service and repair mechanical systems of gas/diesel powered automotive and heavy equipment.
    • Move parts and materials to repair and maintain equipment.
    • Perform preventive maintenance and keep accurate records.
    • Prepare parts orders from parts manual.
    • Read schematics, diagrams, and sketches.
    • Perform skilled mechanic work on systems including:
      • Preventive Maintenance
      • Tires, and Tubes
      • Wheel & Rims
      • Cranking Systems
      • Lighting Systems
      • Cooling Systems
      • Fuel Systems
      • Hydraulic Systems
 
What You Bring
    • Troubleshooting and repair skills on one or more of the following: light, medium, heavy duty or farm equipment brake components.
    • Experience performing preventive maintenance on one or more of the following: light, medium, heavy duty trucks and heavy equipment.
    • Diagnostics experience on basic electrical systems and proper repair of wiring.
    • Basic hydraulic system repair experience including component replacement and hoses.
    • Knowledge of diagnostic software, tools, and equipment for trucks and heavy equipment.
    • Ability to repair and maintain automotive and heavy equipment.
    • Ability to prepare paperwork for equipment repair.
    • Ability to understand written and verbal instructions.
    • Able to read schematics, diagrams, and sketches.
    • Strength to move relatively-heavy objects.
    • Ability to safely operate equipment for testing purposes.
    • Ability to work indoor and outdoor environment.
 
Notes
    • Work assignments vary in complexity depending on the type of mechanical system.
    • You must possess a valid commercial driver’s license – Class “A” with “N” endorsement within 60 days of hire.
    • A pre-employment drug test is required.
    • We will do a background check with previous employers for the past 2 years about controlled substances and alcohol.
    • We may require current certification by the EPA as a Type I, II, III, or Universal Technician.
    • Safety Shoes are required.
 
Education & Experience
    • High School/GED diploma, and
    • 2+ years of relevant experience, or
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
