Job Description

We are looking for an Associate Director of Performance Marketing (Paid Search/SEM) to lead B2B and B2C media efforts for a client roster of rapidly growing national brands. Our ideal candidate has 6-8 years of experience leading paid search/SEM campaigns and developing omni-channel paid media strategies. As an Associate Director, you’ll be an expert in paid search/SEM but also develop media campaign strategies and lead the execution, optimization, and analysis of such campaigns across various digital mediums. The Associate Director, Performance Marketing reports to our Group Director, Performance Marketing, and can be based in any of our four metro areas: Chicago, D.C., NYC, or Phoenix.


  • Be an expert in paid search/SEM, comfortable with leading strategy as well as being hands-on within the platform, executing and optimizing omni-channel media campaigns primarily within AdWords and Bing Ads, but also including (but not limited to) paid social, programmatic display, native advertising, CTV, direct buys, etc.
  • Act as a discipline lead and subject matter expert within assigned client accounts, driving a culture of continual analysis, testing, experimentation, and optimization.
  • Work directly with clients, account leadership, and creative/content teams to understand overall business objectives and develop appropriate media plans to achieve client goals.
  • Partner with colleagues within our Data Intelligence team to produce weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting including performance measurement and metrics analysis, insights and opportunities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in an ever-changing environment and meet tight deadlines.


  • 6 years hands-on experience developing and managing paid media campaigns, with expert level competencies in paid search/SEM.
  • Previous experience within a content marketing agency is preferred.
  • Exceptional problem solving, and analysis skills combined with the ability to synthesize and effectively communicate findings to all levels throughout the organization.
  • Willingness to be deep in the details while also being able to create and communicate higher level strategy.
  • Strong analytical abilities with a passion for data-informed decision making.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex media details for non-media audiences.
