Status: Contract (12 Months Maternity Leave Contract)
Location: 22 Adelaide Street West, Toronto (currently working remotely but will need to commute to the office when it reopens).

Job Summary:
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting and ensuring that the Direct-to-Consumer division’s book inventory is maintained at appropriate levels to meet shipping requirements. You will prepare and maintain various forecasts to meet this objective. Occasional travel within North America may be required.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Book Forecasting – 30%
• Review book usages and prepare weekly print and bind forecasts for Direct-to-Consumer division for production
• Ensure different usages for books by various marketing groups are captured in the forecasts
• Prepare forecasts for campaign and other usages as required

Run Verifications – 30%
• Approve daily and weekly shipping runs by ensuring availability of book inventory for shipments
• Verifies shipment quantities are accurate, versus forecasts and correct titles are being shipped to customers
• Resolve book shortages in a timely manner

Inventory Management – 30%
• Monitor inventory levels of books and request reprint/revisions as required to maintain sufficient inventory for shipments
• Review monthly and quarterly destruction lists for books to be saved
• Find efficient ways to use excess inventory to minimize inventory write-downs

Daily/Monthly Reporting – 10%
• Maintain daily invoice run reports to ensure volumes are balanced to invoice and actuals are comparable to forecasts – Ensure discrepancies are resolved prior to run being released
• Maintain daily intake reports for promotions to track response rates and investigate variance issues
• Reconcile month end shipments to Datawarehouse numbers

Specific training or job experience required includes:
• 3-5 years work experience in forecasting and inventory management
• Post-secondary degree/diploma in Business/Marketing
• Comfortable working with and able to manipulate large data sets
• Strong knowledge of Excel, including macros, pivot tables
• Exceptional problem solving and decision-making skills
