Part-Time Assistant Groundsman

Job Description


We are a friendly, family-run glamping and wedding venue and working farm, looking for a flexible, positive, and hardworking grounds/maintenance worker to join our expanding team. This role is initially self-employed and part-time.

You will be responsible for the maintenance of our glamping accommodation and grounds, ensuring that the building of cabins and landscaping of grounds are met to our five-star standard of service. You will be working with another groundsman who is also the co-owner of the venue and we will provide you with all the necessary equipment. Please note it is a physically demanding role.


Based just outside Grimston, North West Norfolk, we are on a nine-acre site. You will need to be in possession of your own car and able to drive to work as well as work on both sites (the wedding venue and the farm). Free parking is available on the premises.


This role will initially cover 10-15 hours a week. Hours will vary but we will need availability Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. There is career progression for the right candidate.


£12 p/h. A timesheet and invoice will need to be sent to us at the end of every month. As a self-employed worker, you will need to provide us with your UTR number and be responsible for paying your own tax and National Insurance. After a trial period, an employed position may become available for more hours.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Landscaping
  • Grass cutting, strimming
  • Cleaning and setting up BBQs/firepits
  • Laying seeds
  • Setting up bell tents
  • Litter picking
  • Using ride on mowers
  • Assisting with the building of log cabins
  • Woodwork/carpentry
  • Carrying props/tables/beds etc and other heavy lifting
  • Changing bulbs, climbing ladders, hanging up signage/lighting at ceiling height level
  • Cutting up logs for firewood
  • Planting & maintaining flowers
  • Painting
  • General maintenance/ odd jobs


  • Experience of woodwork and carpentry is preferable
  • A full UK driving license and access to own vehicle is essential
  • Ability to follow instructions with positivity and willingness
  • Ability to work alone as well as part of a fun, supportive team
  • A high level of reliability and confidentiality
  • Excellent timekeeping and commitment to the role
  • Checkable references
