The Assistant Clinical Coordinator reports to the Associate Dean of the Department of Nursing, collaborates and works closely with the following individuals: Associate Director for BSN and IEN Programs, Clinical Coordinator for BSN and IEN Programs, all nursing faculty, staff, and students. The major responsibilities of this position include collaboration with the Clinical Coordinator to obtain and coordinate clinical placements for students across the nursing program, completion and assistance in clinical on-boarding for nursing students and faculty, and coordination of registration for IEN students. Additionally, the Assistant Clinical Coordinator assists the Clinical Coordinator in the development, coordination, and maintenance of all clinical sites and community partner relationships.

Job Requirements


  • Assist and support the Clinical Coordinator in the organization on all aspects of clinical on-boarding and health clearances for students and faculty.
  • Assist and support the Clinical Coordinator to secure clinical existing and new clinical placements for students across the nursing program.
  • Assist and support the Clinical Coordinator to determine the numbers and types of clinical placements needed each semester and in the development, coordination, and maintenance of all student clinical placements (including preceptor placements).
  • Work with Clinical Coordinator to utilize all clinical agency software systems including CCPS, My Clinical Exchange, and Castlebranch.
  • Assist and support the Associate Director as needed in communication with clinical educators to foster ongoing relationships through the accurate and timely completion of required paperwork for all clinical facilities.
  • Assist and support the Associate Director in IEN student registration
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent.
  • Three years administrative assistant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to interpret information in written, oral, or diagram formats.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Word, and Google Suite programs.
  • Demonstrated commitment to work excellence.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills with an ability to manage priorities and workflow with attention to detail.
  • Ability to deal effectively and professionally with diverse individuals.
  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgment in problem-solving.
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility, versatility, and an ability to work in an environment with constantly changing priorities.
  • Ability to assist with planning and organizing projects as a team member.
  • Ability to efficiently handle multiple tasks at the same time.
  • Ability to observe safety and security procedures and use equipment and materials properly.
  • Excellence in ability to work collaboratively with the Clinical Coordinator and all members of the nursing clinical operations team.
