Job Description
Position Title: Art Director
Location/Work Schedule: Full-time, Remote with flexible schedule, Monday through Friday
Salary: $80,000-$120,000 depending on experience and location
About the Role
The Art Director will collaborate with the Creative Director to develop and execute the vision for the web and mobile experience of a new and innovative digital media service, working primarily on the content rich web and mobile experiences by bringing the editorial and video content to life. This role will also have the opportunity to work on content marketing creative across social media and other potential marketing channels.
The Art Director works closely with the editorial team, and sometimes with writers/contributors, to help them visualize, express, and translate the ideas in their content. The Art Director is also responsible for working across extended assets including article images, content campaigns, podcast episode artwork, video graphics, and social media, as well as designs for brand extensions, emails/newsletters, webpages, and other visual assets.
The ideal candidate is passionate about positive social change; values accuracy, precision, and integrity of the source content; and can translate them to broader audiences and prioritize elements without diluting meaning. They should be aware of the latest design tools and trends.

Responsibilities
Create and design graphics & photo retouching for our mobile and web experience
Ensure projects are completed with high quality and on schedule
Help implement creative direction for the company and maintain brand consistency
Prioritize, execute and manage multiple projects within design specifications and budget restrictions
Experience managing designers internally or freelance
Perform retouching and manipulation of existing images
Work on a wide range of media using the Adobe creative suite to execute great design experiences.
Bonus Skills
Animation or motion graphic experience is a bonus
Qualifications
3-5 years professional experience as an Art Director
Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, print, and the web
Demonstrated experience working with or within underserved populations
Good brainstorming skills
Experience developing visual style guides and maintaining them
Familiarity with HTML and CSS
Expert knowledge in the Adobe Creative Suite set of software
Compelling portfolio of work over a wide range of creative projects
Strong analytical skills and excellent eye for detail
Good collaboration skills with other creatives
Permanently authorized to work in the US
