Job Description

Equal Opportunity Schools seeks an innovative, equity-driven Analyst. We are a national not-for-profit organization with a mission to ensure that black, brown, and low-income students have access to America’s academically challenging school programs, and that they succeed at all levels. EOS is a rapidly growing, continuously improving organization with diversity initiatives.

The Analyst will work with the Reporting and Analytics team to develop reporting tools to be used in the field and for internal evaluation of our work. You will be responding to real-time ad-hoc data needs and troubleshooting requests. You will also be facilitating user feedback sessions and managing a backlog of user needs and improvements. The Analyst will work closely with fellow Reporting Team members, members of our Partnership and Development teams, and our school partners to produce easy-to-understand, actionable, and mindset-shifting data. As a team, we rely heavily on Tableau, PostgreSQL, Excel and Qualtrics, and this role will further the integration between these systems.

Responsibilities:

This position is responsible to:

  • Develop a scope for a new reporting product.
  • Work in Tableau to create a data dashboard and/or adjust an existing one.
  • Review reporting requirements and designs of fellow team members.
  • Fulfill an ad-hoc data request for a client or internal stakeholder.
  • Work with our internal and external users to gather feedback and manage a backlog.
  • Troubleshoot a customer issue or data discrepancy.

Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • At least five to seven years of experience as an Analyst preferred (Minimum of 3 years required)
  • Has experience with Tableau, Tableau Server, Excel, and statistics.
  • Has experience providing reports and analytics to consultants in the field, including communicating data clearly and effectively to non-technical audiences.
  • Has experience working with quantitative and qualitative data, particularly data related to education and/or equity, and can identify and model the data and relationships necessary to support reporting requirements.
  • Has managed reporting projects from start to finish with experience in scoping and developing requirements from various stakeholders, and incorporating processes to collect feedback and iterate.

You enjoy collaborating with others. You recognize that working with a diverse team of individuals with varying roles and skills can be challenging, but you enjoy this challenge. You work to find creative solutions to best fit a wide range of contexts, needs, uses, and timelines.

You love to learn and grow. You are always looking to improve and to develop new skills, and welcome constructive feedback that helps you get there. You’re excited to learn from other perspectives that will inform your thinking, and to contribute to others’ learning.

You are comfortable working in a dynamic, growing organization.
