Would you like to share your passion for sports with others? As the Adult Sports Staff Lead, you will provide supervision, leadership, and motivation for all participants in adult sports programming. In this role, you will monitor the facility to ensure a safe, positive, and fun environment by providing instruction and organizing activities as needed as well as facilitating games and officiating.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist and support leading the adult sports programs under the directions of Program Director
  •  Assist participants with questions, comments or concerns about Adult Programs.
  • Before every game, check the playing area for hazards. Meet with team captains to go over rules and calls

Qualifications: 

  • A commitment to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • One year or more of related experience preferred.
  • Positive attitude and previous experience with adult and diverse populations.
  • Knowledge and skills in various sports activities and related equipment, and the ability to instruct participants in techniques.
  • A general understanding of specific sport(s) and the rules or display a willingness to learn, and the ability to officiate games accordingly.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures.
  • Understanding of and commitment to the YMCA Sports Philosophy.
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational, interpersonal, and problem solving skills.
  • CPR, First Aid, AED certifications preferred.
  • Able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day, and other online and in person training as required.

Starting Wage: $16.67+ per hour, depending on experience

Hours: Part-Time, Up to 25 hours per week
