Primary Purpose:

Monitor all credit and collection activity on non-residential accounts, (excluding VIP customers). Perform risk assessment to determine creditworthiness. Communicate with customer and internal department to discuss account and secure payment.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and review non-residential customer account that may present financial risk.
  • Take independent action to secure high risk account and manage customer issue directly related to credit collections.
  • Monitor and review outstanding receivables; take independent action to secure payment by contacting customer directly.
  • Investigate and resolve credit-related customer account inquiries and disputes by performing billing and payment analysis, working with other departments to resolve account issues, and communicating inquiry results to customers.
  • Negotiate and authorize appropriate credit extensions and security arrangements with customer to protect SDGE’s financial interests and limit liabilities.
  • Negotiate and authorize alternative forms of security such as surety bonds and irrevocable letters of credit and maintain all associated account documentation and related files.
  • Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).

Required Qualifications: 

  • 2+ years’ experience in commercial credit and/or customer service.
  • Candidate must possess a solid knowledge of credit collections policies, company tariffs and applicable state and federal laws.
  • Excellent oral and written communications are essential.
  • Able to communicate with confidence and credibility.
  • Effective at time management, establishing priorities and working in a multi-tasked environment.
  • Must reside in Southern California or be willing to relocate upon hire.
  • We offer a hybrid work environment. Although the schedule may vary, typically this will allow you to work from the office two to three days per week and work remotely on the remaining workdays.
