Full-Time Account Lead/Brand Manager

Job Description

Guru seeks an experienced account lead/brand manager (3-5 years in an agency setting) to join our full-time staff. This position is responsible for providing marketing guidance – both strategic and tactical – to our clients. They act as the primary contact between the clients and our company, and are responsible for maintaining a healthy relationship between the two; acting on behalf of the best interest of both. This position is the first line of strategic thinking and guidance for the client, and leads the charge when it comes to bringing smart, creative ideas to the table. 

Location: We welcome your remote (but U.S.-based) location, as we are a virtual team with employees across the United States and hubs in California and Burlington, VT. 

The priorities for this role include:

  • Building meaningful, high-value relationships with clients.
  • Adding value to internal creative and media efforts.
  • Functioning as the key strategic marketing partner for clients.
  • Maintaining thorough knowledge of the client’s business to anticipate problems and opportunities.
  • Developing and managing all marketing and branding efforts, working cooperatively with other leaders and groups to ensure an integrated and effective product.
  • Developing strategic briefs and project briefs as needed, sometimes in partnership with a strategist. 
  • Authoring innovative marketing communications strategies and plans, programs and campaigns, implementing in partnership with creative and media teams. 
  • Inspiring great work and collaboration from internal teams and client partners.
  • Maintaining a strong grasp on the current creative, marketing and media landscapes and acts as a resource to both clients and internal teams. 
  • Managing all projects for assigned clients. 
  • Monitoring resources, building scopes of works and budgets, and managing relationships with responsibility for project and client profitability and revenue growth. 
  • Seeking opportunities to develop and expand Guru’s business – both with existing clients and through new business opportunities.
  • Overall, looking out for the well-being of both Guru and their clients, always behaving like a responsible contributor, proactive thinker, and creative problem solver. 
  • Project management experience, with a solid understanding of project management principles and techniques.
