DEPARTMENT OF TECHNOLOGY SERVICES (DoTS)

Traditional 235 work days

FTE: 1.0

Salary Range: $84,257 – $105,322

Essential Functions and Objectives:

Responsible for performing advanced technical analysis to solve business problems using advanced methods. Provides information that may inform the district on key decision-making for priorities and project work cross functionally. Administers updates to procedures, improvements, and reporting within district wide systems and platforms.

Provides support for the implementation, maintenance, enhancement, and improvement of Oracle Cloud ERP products and related applications. Serves as a liaison between the District’s business units and other groups within the Department of Technology Services (DoTS) and is responsible for understanding the needs of the business and technology groups while building strong relationships with them.

Provide support for Oracle Cloud ERP products and related applications including, but not limited to system access, monitoring, troubleshooting, and operability.

Analyze technical problems related to Oracle Cloud ERP and related systems and perform root cause analysis to clearly define the cause of issues.

Collaborate with business entities, technologists, vendors, and process analysts to recommend permanent solutions and strategies for resolving ERP issues.

Assists in the definition, analysis, development, implementation and documentation of new systems, customized programs, and databases.

Work with business, leadership, and technology to define standard upgrade/patch processes, and coordinate their implementation.

Open issues with ERP vendor, track resolution progress, and ensure solution meets the organization’s business needs.

Work with DPS business units to design, implement, and maintain security structures related to the district’s ERP and related systems.

Perform minor software development and maintenance using SQL, Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence (OTBI), and Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC).

Analyze and Implement Role based Security in the Oracle Cloud.

Design, build, maintain, schedule, monitor, and troubleshoot Oracle Cloud jobs.

Train tier 1 support groups to utilize it in providing excellent end user support.

Provide guidance to business entities during application promotions.

Knowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:

Five (5) or more years of IT work experience is required.

Three (3) or more years of experience working with HR, payroll, benefits, financials, or procurement systems are required; experience with Oracle Cloud products highly desired.

Experience troubleshooting, isolating, and diagnosing problems and working with role based security is required.

Effectively handles multiple demands and competing deadlines.

Strong attention to detail.

Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to discuss issues at a technical or non-technical level, depending on the audience.

Ability to quickly learn new systems and applications.

Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, collaborative environment and with staff at all levels in all departments.

Aptitude for variety and changing expectations in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to work in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with district and school leaders, faculty, staff and students.

High degree of integrity in handling confidential information.

Maintains expert knowledge of developments in the fields of education, business, and information processing which may have application for the District.

Skilled at improving business processes with ERP solutions.

Ability to influence and motivate the work of others.

Ability to read and interpret relevant manuals and information and to understand and troubleshoot a variety of programming techniques.

Ability to interpret, adapt, and occasionally deviate from established practices and procedures for new situations and problems.

Superior customer service and support skills.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred.
