Manager, Safety and Training

TRANSPORTATION, CENTRAL

Northwest

Traditional 235 work days

FTE: 1.0

Salary Range: $38.78 – $48.47

 

Essential Functions and Objectives:

 

Detailed responsibilities:

* Transportation Manager Job Description

Responsible for maintaining the operational and transactional responsibilities of the department. Manages the coordination of day to day activities of a specific business function. Primary emphasis is achieving results by building engagement and empowering their teams. May have exposure for district wide initiatives.

Coordinates the development, implementation of training curriculums and auditing of ongoing compliance programs for all district vehicle operators. Includes oversight to ensure compliance and accordance of federal, state and local laws and Board of Education policies. Provices oversight of accidents investigations, trends, work related injuries and establishment of key performance metrics. Incorporates leadership for two locations, and it requires that time on the job is evenly balanced between two terminals.

Knowledge, Experience, & Other Qualifications:

Five (5) years’ experience in transportation or training, preferably training

management and administrative experience that includes budget responsibilities in a Transportation, Operations or large public sector, government entity or organization. Experience in a collective bargaining environment.

Must have or be able to obtain (within 60 days) a current and valid State of Colorado Commercial Driver’s License class B with PS2 endorsement.

 

Knowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:

Knowledge of federal and state transportation compliance, including the Department of Transportation (DOT) and the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) and Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), drug testing, hours of service, DOT and CDE inspections

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, including the ability to lead a high-performing team

Strong knowledge of learning management systems and demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products and Google workspace

Proven track record, showing ability to successfully complete the full training cycle (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor and evaluate)

Bilingual preferred

Bachelor’s Degree Preferred

Education equivalent experience:

Related field
