Essential Functions and Objectives:

Administers and manages activities within a specific area of a responsibility. Serves as the subject matter expert and applies gained knowledge to execute, maintain and improve systems, programs, or processes.

Supports the development and implementation of school and District technology and instructional plans that seek to improve student engagement, student achievement, and digital literacy skills through coaching, co-teaching, collaborating, and consulting with teachers, building administrators and other personnel. Acts a liaison with stakeholder groups, maintaining knowledge of state-of-the-art practices in educational technology; initiating and promoting the use of new technologies; developing plans for assessing and evaluating the effectiveness of educational technology; aligning technology use and pedagogy with District program goals; and establishing and coordinating training programs. Responsible for the integration of technology into student learning. Coordinates with the principal at the host school on all instructional-related projects, including professional development, policy, planning, and project implementation.

Provides various support and conducts activities related to logistics, reporting, training, communications, and processes. Participates in the planning and implementation of new initiatives. 

Assesses and troubleshoots escalated problems and applies expert understanding to resolve complex challenges of stakeholders; focuses on root cause identification in order to achieve systemic and sustainable improvement. Approves and documents exceptions for compliance record keeping and reporting.

Ensures appropriate key stakeholder involvement in planning, goal-setting, and implementation to achieve buy-in of work products. Ensures purposeful, positive and professional interactions and relationships with all stakeholders; enables consistent application of work products across the district.

Identifies opportunities for improvement, prioritizes, and recommends solutions to management. Implements approved enhancements to ensure consistency across the district. Identifies opportunities to reduce costs; analyzes available data, trends, and feedback, and ensures compliance with expectations for optimal operation and goal achievement. 

Remains current with literacy and English as a Second Language (ESL) research based practices and pedagogy and develops a thorough understanding of Colorado Academic Standards, Common Core State Standards, and International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) standards. 

Creates, leads, and supports professional development related to integrating software, digital curriculum, and new technologies into classroom learning.

Leads Digital Citizenship programming, promoting and ensuring responsible, safe, and appropriate use of technology.

Promotes personalized learning through online learning, blended learning, inquiry-based learning, and educational technology integration.

Provides guidance for policy/procedural considerations for student and staff use of technology.

Coordinates with school leadership, Educational Technology, and the MyTech program to insure faithful implementation of the schools’ one-to-one implementation plans.; works with school administrators, technology and library teachers, and classroom teachers to leverage horizontal, vertical, and other networks to accelerate the effective use of learning technology throughout the school and create collaborative leadership structures that ensure the sustainability and long-term success of the initiative.

Collaborates with the Educational Technology Department and host school leadership to write and implement a plan to support the meaningful integration of technology and engage the school community.

Develops and implements a plan to collect data in order to monitor changes in student engagement, achievement, and instructional practices related to the use of technology.

Coaches through co-planning, co-teaching, analysis, and reflection with classroom teachers, using the Teacher Inquiry model and student data/evidence in order to successfully integrate technology into classroom technology; provides feedback, promoting professional conversation and reflective thinking in order to impact teacher effectiveness.

Creates and manages a digital repository for materials that document and communicate building’s technology integration, including professional development plans and surveys with the parent, teacher, and student communities.

Knowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:

Three (3) years of related experience, including experience with Google Apps, Web 2.0 tools, Chromebooks, Chrome Web browser, and Chrome Apps.

Proficiency with Google Suite with emphasis in Sheets, Forms, and Docs as well as Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Outlook.

Effective time management, analytic, and organizational skills.

Communicates diplomatically and persuasively through effective verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills.

Strong attention to detail.

Effectively handles multiple demands and competing deadlines.

Ability to set goals, work independently, and drive results.

Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with individuals at all different levels in the organization.

Aptitude for variety and changing expectations in a fast-paced environment.

Outstanding coaching, collaboration, and facilitation skills, including the ability to inspire others.

Ability to work in a multi-ethnic and multicultural environment with District and school leaders, faculty, staff, and students.

Knowledge of effective instructional practices in literacy and differentiation strategies for English Language Learners.

Knowledge of blended learning, personalized learning, and collaboration tools.

Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and knowledge of learning by design (UBD). 

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field. 

Master’s Degree in Educational Technology, Literacy, or English Language Acquisition preferred.
