Ballot Access Field Organizer Location: Multiple States Desired Start Date: ASAP Type: Full time Application Deadline: Rolling Summary: Bernie 2020 is seeking motivated, dynamic Field Organizers to join our Ballot Access Organizing Team. The Ballot Access Organizing Team travels the country to organize the important effort to gather petition signatures to qualify Senator Bernie Sanders for the ballot across a number of states. Our campaign will harness its large national grassroots volunteer base to complete this effort. We encourage you to apply for this position if you are passionate about building a volunteer capacity to do this critical signature collection work. The ideal candidate enjoys recruiting volunteer leaders, developing and training volunteers, managing signature collection in their designated regions and is extremely organized and detail-oriented. Essential Duties: Identify, recruit, and support volunteer leaders; Recruit, train and develop teams of volunteers; Build meaningful relationships with volunteers and supporters; Organize events and mass meetings; Use digital tools to support organizing on the ground; Motivate volunteers to meet signature collection goals; Collect signatures during door-to-door and site-based canvassing events; Carefully track and report progress to goal in assigned region; Meet and exceed signature collection goals; Frequent travel throughout the U.S.; and Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Ability to multitask, create and achieve goals, meet deadlines and creatively solve problems; Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to quickly build relationships with volunteers; Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, such as canvasses and barnstorms; Strong willingness to learn and adapt; Ability to take feedback and implement changes in real time; Good listening skills; Strong organizational skills and incredible attention to detail; Willingness to spend several weeks at a time away from home; Valid license to drive and ability to drive a rental car. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in signature collection efforts, whether for candidate or ballot initiative campaigns; Public speaking skills and/or experience leading trainings for medium-sized or large groups; Experience working in the following states: AL, DE, IL, IN, MT, OH, VA, WA; and Experience working or volunteering on electoral, union, or community organizing campaigns. Salary $42,000 a year Benefits Full Time employees are eligible for benefits, including health care, vision, and dental insurance; sick leave, paid time off, cell phone stipend, and more.
