Full-Time Administrative Coordinator (Nassau) – Long Island Dispute Resolution Center

Job Description

EAC Network seeks a full-time Administrative Coordinator for the Long Island Dispute Resolution Center (LIDRC) located in Hempstead, NY. The position is Monday – Friday 9:00am-5:00PM PM. Excellent benefits medical/dental/401K and very generous Paid Time Off plan (PTO).

Primary Purpose of Job:

The Administrative Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of the SDMC and Lemon Law (Nassau) components and providing administrative and back-up support to all other Long Island Dispute Resolution Centers components.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Perform pre-hearing responsibilities, including intake, scheduling of hearings, contacting volunteers and securing hearing location.
  2. Explain and encourage the hearing process to prospective parties.
  3. Perform data-entry for the SDMC and all LIDRC components and ensure proper disposition of case files.
  4. Prepare and submit statistical reports and vouchers for the SDMC and Lemon Law components.
  5. Verify accuracy and keep track of data to be entered (such as clients name, clients address, case#, date of hearings) in case file, data-base and post-hearing paperwork.
  6. Maintain office supply inventory, process purchase orders, and order supplies and equipment.
  7. Act as a liaison with service companies, including computer, phone and copier companies.
  8. Respond to telephone inquiries in a timely manner.
  9. Greet contact persons in waiting area.
  10. Maintain relationship with all volunteers and relevant individuals/organizations.
  11. Coordinate schedules, maintain volunteer database, assist in conducting in-service trainings for volunteers.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:

  1. Associates Degree required (educational equivalent with experience will be considered). Bachelors degree preferred.
  2. Minimum of two years of relevant work experience required. Must have knowledge of administrative procedures and conflict resolution practices.
  3. Must be proficient in computer applications or other automated systems such as spreadsheets, Microsoft Office applications, calendar, email and/or database software necessary to perform work assignments.
  4. Must have pleasant phone manner and excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  5. General travel for hearings, trainings, and meetings including an occasional overnight travel.
