Full-Time Fellowship and Learning Coordinator

ABOUT PUBLIC RIGHTS PROJECT: 

Public Rights Project (PRP) is a public interest legal nonprofit, headquartered in Oakland, with a remote team based throughout the United States. Our mission is to close the gap between the promise of our laws and the lived reality of our most vulnerable communities. Since 2017, we have been working at the intersection of community organizing and state and local government enforcement to build a scalable, equitable community-based enforcement model to protect civil rights and advance economic justice. We support progressive state and local governments, including Attorneys General, District Attorneys, and City Attorneys’ Offices as well as Tribal Governments with legal strategy, research, fellowships, and community partnerships to help offices develop high-impact legal cases. Our two fellowship programs embed early-career attorneys in government for 1-2 years (Public Rights Project Fellowship) and support the professional development of current mid-career attorneys in public Service (Affirmative Leaders Fellowship).

 

THE OPPORTUNITY: 

Public Rights Project seeks to hire a Fellowships and Learning Coordinator to join our team and work with us! The position is Full Time. The Fellowships and Learning Coordinator will lead the administration of PRP’s fellowship programs, including planning all fellowship-related events and supporting all operational aspects of our growing, national fellowship programs as well as our digital, virtual, and blended programming. The Fellowship and Learning Coordinator will report directly to the Director of Training and Digital Learning. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Fellowships and Learning Coordinator will assist with all aspects of the organization’s fellowships and digital learning work, including:

  • Assist with all administrative aspects of PRP’s fellowship programs, including recruitment, application organization, selection process management, and planning for onboarding
  • Develop content for communications to prospective and current host offices; prospective, current, and alumni fellows; partner organizations; and external audiences
  • Assist with delivery of fellowship programming, in coordination with PRP’s Legal Team
  • Coordinate fellows in all programs, including through regular check-ins, collection of updates and success stories, and ongoing communications to the cohorts
  • Handle administrative tasks associated with delivering PRP’s suite of digital learning programs including user management and first-line support, uploading and configuring courses and content, reporting and monitoring of learner engagement, feedback, progress, and other key metrics. 
  • Coordinate with PRP’s Marketing & Communications team to place stories about fellows and PRP’s efforts to support state and local equitable enforcement
  • Coordinate to obtain continuing legal education certifications for PRP fellowship programming and administering credits to participant fellows
  • Track and analyze fellowship-related data, in collaboration with our Data Analyst and Salesforce Platform Manager
  • Assist with programming and communications for  fellowship alumni programs
  • Coordinate all administrative aspects of fellowship-related events, including training and convenings for both fellowship programs (arrange travel and accommodations, identify conference & reception space, manage vendor relationships, etc.)

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of experience in law, policy, government, research, or other relevant fields preferred. May substitute 3 years of related experience for the degree requirement.
  • Experience administering learning management systems and working with cohorts of fellows and/or learners.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Expert and proactive project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to complete administrative tasks in support of team goals
  • Experience monitoring, analyzing, and managing a budget
  • Ability to conduct research and provide analysis
  • Ability to work well with others and diverse groups
  • Experience or ability to learn the following systems: Office 365, Salesforce, Asana, Netsuite, Canva LMS and other digital learning tools
  • Ability to juggle multiple roles at a time and work in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Ability and willingness to be adaptable to account for unforeseen challenges /opportunities facing PRP as a new organization.
  • Demonstrates passion for DEI work, issues and needs, including centering the voices of those who have been historically oppressed, and an understanding of the need to dismantle structural racism and bias
  • Willingness to travel regularly (4-6 times per year)
  • A belief in the power of state and local government to make positive, progressive change in the world
  • A passionate commitment to economic, racial, gender, and environmental justice

 

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP:

The Fellowships and Learning Coordinator reports to the Director of Training & Digital Learning and works collaboratively with staff, contractors, and other partners on a daily basis.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Requires sitting, talking and listening for up to 8 hours per day. Must be able to read and write multiple hours per day, and travel domestically on an airplane 10-15 times per year.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Fully remote organization and team. This role may require travel to PRP events or meetings. We currently have remote staff in Oakland, Los Angeles, Boston, New York, and Washington, DC, as well as other cities.

 

COMPENSATION:

The determined salary range for this role is set at $60,000-$70,000  (for internal equity, PRP can not engage in salary negotiations outside of this range).
