The Role 

GovExec is seeking a highly motivated, entrepreneurial, and dedicated Associate Producer to join our team and contribute to the growth, development, and production of a wide range of events and programs. Joining the GovExec Events team, you will be a critical player in developing event content and programming, focused specifically on defense and national security topics. Dedicated to creativity, you will bring program content to life by producing leading class digital and live events for our public sector audience.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop written summaries and event overviews
  • Research speakers and audience members for upcoming events
  • Create event invitations, locate contact information, and book speakers for a variety of events independently and part of larger event project teams
  • Generate new ideas for events, topics and speakers in the defense and national security sphere
  • Support events content team in pre-event moderator and speaker prep via research and scheduling
  • Assist with the creation and execution of compelling community building campaigns via research, interviews, and personalized outreach
  • Translate client marketing goals into compelling public sector events
  • Build an expertise in the defense and national security sphere, from policy to technology, and leverage this knowledge to develop event themes and book speakers

Qualifications:

  • Interest in technology and its implications for government, as well as defense and national security
  • Meticulous attention to detail and superior organizational skills
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Ability to manage complex and fast-changing program elements and prioritize effectively
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, track record of initiative, high-quality service delivery, and ownership of work
  • Creative and strategic thinking with emphasis on customer service to meet client objectives for an event
  • Ability to forge strong relationships with clients, public affairs offices and internal stakeholders
  • Persuasive communication skills and self-possession in presentation
  • Flexibility and ability to push through indecision and ambiguity to deliver results
