Job Title: Human Resources Generalist

Location: Charlotte, NC

Reports To: SVP, Human Resources and Belonging

FLSA Status: Non-exempt; full-time – 40 hours per week

Position Summary:

Reporting directly to the SVP, Human Resources and Belonging, the full-time Human Resources Generalist is responsible for managing the full cycle recruiting process for Girls on the Run International, subsidiary councils and occasionally other Girls on the Run councils. Qualified candidates will have demonstrated experience in full cycle recruiting with a focus on providing an exceptional candidate and new hire experience, practical knowledge in sourcing strategies, a commitment to inclusion, diversity, equity and access (IDEA).

Recruiting

  • Work collaboratively with SVP, Human Resources and Belonging to set recruitment goals, process and timeline based on organizational and departmental needs
  • Maintain valuable working relationships with all hiring teams by work collaboratively to create job descriptions and recruitment strategies that align with organization’s policies, procedures and core values
  • Creating, editing and placing job posting advertisements, ensuring job postings are accessible and reach as many qualified, diverse candidates as possible
  • Utilizing ATS, ensure exceptional candidate experience by managing full cycle recruiting activities including job postings, applicant tracking and correspondence, scheduling and conducting phone screens and interviews, including candidate travel arrangements as needed and final offers
  • Support hiring teams by crafting interview guides specific to the needs of each position
  • Conduct reference checks and background checks where appropriate
  • Serve as primary point of contact and SME for recruitment, advising managers and hiring teams on recruitment policies, procedures and legal requirements, guiding teams through the recruiting process
  • Build contacts and relationships with posting sites, colleges/universities, diversity organizations and other job posting networks
  • Bring organization’s commitment to IDEA forward by tracking key metrics related to recruitment demographics
  • Recruit and support onboarding efforts for internship program

 

Personnel Management

  • Serve as point of contact for employee questions related to policies and procedures, referring to specialist or SVP, Human Resources and Belonging as needed
  • Coordinate and facilitate new hire orientations and onboarding including all multi-state onboarding paperwork
  • Process staff changes, pay increases and other informational changes in payroll system and applicable vendor sites
  • Work closely with finance department to ensure payroll-related changes are captured and ready for payroll processing
  • Maintain accurate and updated electronic personnel file records
  • Update and maintain quarterly HR dashboard, providing quarterly report to leadership
  • Update and maintain employee directory
  • Track performance management review documentation from managers
  • Provide key staff-related communications
  • Gather information and reporting as needed by SVP, Human Resources and Belonging and senior leaders

 

Benefits Administration

  • Serve as primary point of contact for organization’s annual or quarterly open enrollment for all benefit programs
  • Manage new employee enrollment in all benefit offerings
  • Manage employee offboarding, including offboarding communications, compliance and transition from organization’s benefit offerings, including COBRA management
  • Manage time off accruals, tracking and employee questions
  • Serve as primary point of contact for organization’s medical leave program
  • Prepare and distribute annual employee total compensation statements
  • Support organization’s compensation benchmark activities and requests from managers
  • Serve as liaison between HR and finance department

 

General Responsibilities

  • Lead authentically and with a people-first mindset that fosters inclusivity and celebrates diversity
  • Serve as a role model for Girls on the Run
  • Develop positive relationships with staff and council members
  • Ensure actions comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by being familiar with existing and new legislation
  • Any other duties deemed necessary by the SVP, Human Resources and Belonging and senior management

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of HR generalist experience, including in-house full-cycle recruiting; or a combination of equivalent education and experience
  • 3+ years of direct benefits and personnel management experience
  • Hands-on experience with Applicant Tracking Systems and resume databases
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple recruitments from various departments at various stages of the process simultaneously
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Proven attention to detail
  • Highly organized and proactive, with the ability to take initiative and manage multiple tasks and projects at a time and deliver within deadlines
  • Strong customer service skills with excellent follow-up and follow-through
  • Able to thrive in a complex environment managing multiple tasks simultaneously

This position is offering a compensation range of $23 – $24/hour depending on experience. In addition, Girls on the Run International offers a generous PTO plan, a benefits package including company-subsidized medical and dental, vision coverage, life insurance, and paid medical leave and a 401k plan with employer match. This position is 40 hours per week and is completely remote. The selected candidate must currently reside in or have immediate plans to relocate to one of the following states: California, Connecticut, Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas or Wisconsin.
