Full-Time Senior QA Automation Engineer ((Remote (US) OR SF (HQ))

Fieldwire, a SaaS based software service provider for construction management, is looking for an experienced senior QA automation engineer for our Frontend platform to join our talented QA team. Quality and availability of our platform is of utmost importance to Fieldwire and its customers, QA plays a critical role in ensuring we maintain the high quality bar our customers have to expect from us. Through automation, our goal is to find as many bugs as possible in a continuous feedback loop during development. Our applications are built using modern and reliable tools, including Javascript, Angular, and Bootstrap and are designed for simplicity, reliability and performance.

The Frontend team at Fieldwire builds and maintains the web app used by our customers. Our engineering teams are multi-functional, co-located with product and design. Fieldwire’s apps are mission critical for the construction teams that use Fieldwire everyday to save time and money on the jobsite.

What you’ll be doing

You will own the story for UI automation on the Frontend Platform and create long-lasting foundations at Fieldwire. You will be working directly with a Frontend team to create and contribute UI tests. Day-to-day includes adding to the UI framework, writing tests, and reviewing scenarios with the web team.

A day in the life of a QA Automation Engineer will be frequently solving these types of problems:

  • Building new UI automation test to increase coverage using Cypress.io
  • Identify testability requirements, utilizing industry standards for automated testing
  • Working directly with Frontend team on planning, writing, and executing tests and include them in the CI/CD pipeline
  • Working with QA team and platform counter-parts (iOS and Android) on building testing best practices for engineering

At Fieldwire, we’re looking for our next QA Automation Engineer to have the following skills and experiences: 

  • 5+ years of experience working as an automation engineer (QA or SDET)
  • 2+ years of automating tests for the web platform, preferably in JavaScript
  • Experience building tests against real API calls and mock endpoints
  • Experience in executing test runs and reviewing failures
  • Familiar with QA best practices, such as identifying test coverage and what should be tested
  • Strong communications skills

Where is the job located?

This role is fully remote within the US. Our headquarters is based in the beautiful city of San Francisco, CA. Our office is located right off of Montgomery Bart station. Easily accessible by all forms of public transportation.
