Full-Time Vice President of Development

Job Description

KEES has been exclusively retained by Northwest Kidney Centers in its search for a Vice President of Development.

Northwest Kidney Centers’ mission is to promote the optimal health, quality of life and independence of people with kidney disease through patient care, education and research. Founded in 1962, Northwest Kidney Centers (NKC) is the world’s first dialysis organization. Today, NKC has 20 clinic locations across Greater Seattle.

Reporting to the President and CEO, the Vice President of Development innovates and grows all philanthropic efforts at NKC. The VP is essential and integral to ensuring the organization is developing strong relationships with all types of donors (individual, corporate, institutional), sponsors, community organizations and other partners that invest annually in NKC’s mission. Additionally, the Vice President will collaborate in a matrixed role with other leaders to ensure communication and marketing efforts are aligned around a common message at NKC.

As the lead and senior position within NKC to work with the Foundation Board (which is a Committee of the Board of Trustees) and the Executive Team, the VP will build on a solid foundation to orchestrate an expanded and multi-faceted approach to propel philanthropy forward. The successful candidate will be innovative, creative, and have a collaborative mindset that recognizes and seizes opportunities. Candidates who are energized by enriching the lives of patients with kidney disease or have a personal connection to dialysis and kidney treatment are encouraged to apply.

Specific Requirements Include:

  • At least seven years of progressively responsible experience in development/philanthropy with a proven track record of fundraising success; a minimum of three years leading a team.
  • Showcased ability to build strong external relationships with a variety of volunteers, public leadership, partner organizations, and other stakeholders and migrate general relationships into donors and investors in NKC’s future.
  • Track record in financial management, stewardship, and developing strategies to successfully increase revenue.
  • Proven success in building strong and productive work teams with a focus on mentoring, inspiring and nurturing staff development.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with high fluency in all forms of communication (traditional, virtual, online, etc.).
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field; Master’s preferred.
