We are looking for a Product Owner who champions the needs of the business and works across departments to gather and document requirements, develop acceptance criteria, and refine the product backlog independently.  Following Agile principles, the candidate would apply incremental delivery principles to the release process, communicate progress to stakeholders, and be the “Voice of Customer” for the development team. The ideal candidate would also embody LegitScript’s core values of being Awesome, Open, Invested, and Thoughtful in their day-to-day interactions with all employees. Please note that one stage of the interview process is to provide LegitScript with writing & Wireframe samples.

We are currently looking for candidates who are local to the Portland Metro Area or in Pacific Time Zone, but this position will be remote until the pandemic subsides.

What You’ll Do:

  • Responsible for independent execution of tasks from start to finish.
  • Thoroughly document requirements covering scope, feature set, use cases, KPIs, detailed wireframes, etc.
  • Engage with internal and external customers to define requirements, validate assumptions, and demonstrate new functionalities.
  • Translate the product roadmap into specific, clearly scoped releases driven by business value.
  • Prioritize and maintain backlog at multiple levels keeping roadmap, business opportunities, efficiency dials in mind.
  • Collaborate with Project Manager on project schedule, milestones, and metrics for company-wide visibility.
  • Seek consensus and facilitate compromise between engineers and stakeholders to meet the overall needs of the business.
  • Attend scrum ceremonies (stand-ups, planning, retro, etc.), lead backlog grooming sessions, and actively engage with Engineering.

 

What You’ll Bring:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a Product Owner or similar role
  • Working knowledge of product management practices
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of the software development life cycle
  • Minute attention to accuracy and detail, while being results-oriented
  • Extensive experience gathering and documenting requirements, while working cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders
  • Experience with Jira, G-Suite, and Microsoft Office
  • Very strong written and oral communication
  • Time management skills and personal accountability
