Position Responsibilities

We are looking for digital communications professional to help support day-to-day tasks and initiatives across the Marketing and Communications team. With direction from the Senior Digital Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining a robust, on-trend social media calendar, and in doing so, helping to reach follower and engagement goals, as well as directing traffic to our site. You will also work closely with the Content Marketing Specialist to write, proofread, format, and publish content on our website and blogs, including our Learn Library and impact reports to donors. Other responsibilities will include assisting in public relations outreach and performing some administrative and reporting tasks.

To do this well, you will need to understand how to engage new and existing audiences across various online platforms while maintaining brand integrity, have demonstrated competency in copywriting, and good organizational skills.

The Digital Communications Assistant reports to the Senior Digital Marketing Manager. The assistant will also work with other GlobalGiving teams to support their communications and marketing goals.

Required Qualifications

For our team to be a great fit for you, the following qualifications should resonate with you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in digital marketing, journalism, communications, or related field
  • At least 1 year of experience (including internships) working in a digital communications role for a nonprofit organization
  • Strong knowledge in social media marketing and platforms like Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube
  • Experience and competency in digital copywriting, content creation, editing, and curation
  • Passion for current and emerging trends and news
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a collaborative spirit
  • A passionate belief in the mission of GlobalGiving and a commitment to our core values

Preferred Qualifications

In addition, the ideal candidate would also have some or all of the following qualifications:

  • Experience with video content creation and graphic design
  • Comfortable with being an on-camera representative for the GlobalGiving brand
  • Drive to advance GlobalGiving’s voice and brand across a variety of media
  • A thirst for creativity and experimentation
  • Familiarity with and understanding of TikTok and emerging social media platforms

Salary + Benefits

Salary range: $42k to $45k.

Location

This is a full-time position reporting to the Senior Digital Marketing Manager and will be filled remotely for the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic. Once in-office operations can safely resume, this role will be based in GlobalGiving’s headquarters in Washington, D.C.
