Corporate Services offers a challenging and stimulating variety of work in both delivery and support teams. The function utilises the expertise of eight specialisms that collectively enable the operational day-to-day running of the business to ensure that DE&S/SDA delivers its objectives and maintains compliance with the requirements of being part of a Department of State. We cover: Business Support; Comms, Media & Marketing; Infrastructure & Estate Management; Policy Profession; Sales & Disposals; Occupational Health, Safety & Environment; Quality Management; and Security.
An excellent opportunity for a Quality Manager to join the DE&S AirISTAR team at RAF Waddington.
As a Quality Manager you will be part of the Quality Management Team, responsible for ensuring an effective management system of operational governance is in place, mitigating enterprise level risks through a programme of independent assurance of DE&S ways of working and the outputs that are produced. You will develop and deliver Quality Management through governance, assurance and Improvement to ISO 9001:2015 and MOD regulation. This is a complex and multi-faceted position with exciting and rewarding outcomes.
AirISTAR procures and provides through life support for the RAF ISTAR Force Commander and the RAF. The AirISTAR delivery team have over 200 personnel (civilian and Military), based in MOD Abbey Wood, RAF Waddington and the US. Working as one team you will help to contribute to the delivery of three aircrafts.
Responsibilities
Key areas of responsibility as Quality Manager include:
• Working as part of a team to deliver Governance, Assurance and Improvement activity to ensure a quality output in line with ISO9001 certification requirements to ensuring its effectiveness, providing technical advice and guidance.
• Managing the maintenance of the business processes working with document sponsors, authors and owners.
• Managing support to ensure appropriate management reviews are held and any appropriate management information is produced.
• When required represent quality management at meetings deputising for the Senior Quality Manager.
• The production of a risk based assurance programme through collaborative working with senior management.
• Delivery of internal assurance quality audits and completing the reports.
• Coordination of second and third party assurance activity.
• Managing timely stakeholder and customer engagement by arranging meetings and events.
• Managing the capture of root cause of non-conformance, analyse and present trend data.
• Managing the maintenance or implementation of the Business Management System including the configuration management of control aspects.
• Collating, presenting and analysing data to present to Senior management to enable informed decision making.
• Engaging with delivery teams to promote a quality culture through awareness of quality, measuring its effectiveness.
• Managing the delivery of improvement projects, taking ownership where appropriate.

• Experience in delivering quality managing systems and completing audits
• Experience in dealing with internal and external stakeholders
• Experience in interpreting and analysing data
• Experience of leadership and management
• Identification and implementation of improvement initiatives
