Full-Time Executive Officer Intelligence Analyst – Gartcosh
Job Description
Our Intelligence Analysts must have a passion for analytics, an innovative mind-set, and a willingness to learn new skills. They need to question current methods of delivery to enhance our processes and to offer a different perspective.
At HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) we make sure money is available to fund the UK’s vital public services and assist people with targeted financial support. With increasing amounts of intelligence and information, it’s a very exciting time to join our expanding analytical community. We’re a key function in HMRC, and are considered leaders in our field by Other Government Departments.
As an Intelligence Analyst, you’ll use structured analytical approaches, tools and techniques to provide assessments and briefings that enhance the development of criminal investigation cases. You’ll contribute to successful prosecutions and inform the decisions of enforcement teams both inside and outside HMRC.
The ability to understand and solve problems is essential. You’ll identify, collect, interpret and evaluate all relevant intelligence and information with accuracy and perception. You’ll use analytical techniques to see past information gaps and inconsistencies, quickly gain an understanding of sometimes unfamiliar and complex issues. You will also identify key information to make sound conclusions.
Intelligence Analysts produce clear, concise and persuasive verbal briefings and short written reports with recommendations that senior managers use to employ the most appropriate method of intervention and investigation.
Using a variety of cutting edge tools and techniques, you’ll be at the forefront of tackling fraud and serious organised crime. You’ll be helping us to understand emerging trends, and be expanding the boundaries of what can be achieved using intelligence and information.
You can look forward to joining a cross-government profession, receiving our 12-month tailored training programme, the support of a dedicated mentor and excellent career development.
