Job Title: ADVENTURE SALES ASSOCIATE
Reports To: Chief Trade Officer
Department: Adventure Sales
JOB SUMMARY
As a member of the Adventure Sales Department, the Adventure Associate is responsible for supporting the Adventure Specialists in a team environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform the following duties well. Additional duties may be added or assigned at any time.
- Learning our trip destinations and individual itineraries in detail
- Supporting the Adventure Specialists by handling specific types of calls and emails from prospective or booked travelers, often in rapid succession, throughout the day as assigned
- Following up with guests as assigned
- Creating prospect lists, follow-up email templates and outreach opportunities for the Adventure Specialist team
- Monitor and manage the email inbox for any Adventure Specialists out of the office
- Providing support to the Adventure Specialist team with existing reservations and certain pre-trip questions, special requests and additional services as needed
- Assisting with the development and writing of custom itineraries and proposals, corresponding with partner companies, in the advancement of more challenging customized trips
- Communicating closely with our marketing, concierge, air and operations teams to support the success of Adventure Specialist team while ensuring the delivery of high-end service
- Working and being fully available 8 am–5 pm Monday–Friday (MT), in a very fast-paced environment. Additional hours may be necessary to achieve your goals and complete your work
- Assist with answering calls that elude our Front Desk and pass them efficiently to their intended recipient.
- Perform various administrative and clerical tasks as needed.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience
BA/BS degree is preferred. Previous international travel experience or experience working in the travel industry is highly desirable.
Communication Skills
Using the English language, this person must possess the ability to effectively communicate –both in writing and orally– with a professional demeanor. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be highly organized, proactive, adaptable and able to multitask, embrace a fast-paced environment and be able to learn quickly.
Other Skills/Abilities
Proficient computer skills in the Windows operating system, including both word-processing and spreadsheet applications.
Strong skills in time management, handling multiple tasks, setting priorities, and meeting deadlines.
The ability to work independently as well as with others in a team environment.
Must be able to display exceptional professionalism.
Periodic travel may be required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and hear. The employee will also be required to write and type. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Compensation commensurate with experience: Base salary between $45,000-$50,000 USD, plus annual bonus.
This position comes with generous Paid Time Off and paid holidays. Benefits include site inspection on Natural Habitat Adventures trips and pro deals on outdoor clothing. Eligibility for medical insurance, participation in 401(k) with company match and parental leave after a predetermined period of time.
LOCATION
Nat Hab currently has a hybrid work model, with some days working in-person at the office (optional) and some days working from home for those employees who live near the Nat Hab headquarters in Boulder County, Colorado. This is subject to change as the COVID-19 situation evolves. Residing in the Denver Metro Area is preferred but not required.
