Full-Time Customs Assistant Officer
Job Description
We are looking for dynamic, enthusiastic individuals who are inquisitive and have passion for interesting, varied and challenging work. You don’t need any existing knowledge or experience of Customs in order to apply, but you’ll have an interest in being at the forefront of tackling Import Fraud.
As a Customs Assistant Officer you will work in a responsible administrative role in close partnership with UK Border Force to tackle Customs Fraud, and protect the UK economy as we leave the European Union (EU).
Working in a Customs warehouse you will investigate and carry out checks on a wide range of goods imported into the UK suspected of being undervalued, incorrectly described or counterfeit.
Good administrative skills, proven written and oral skills will enable you to effectively document and communicate the outcome of your investigations.
This role is a physical one, which will require you to undertake essential manual handling activities such as lifting, pushing, pulling and moving items throughout the course of your day-to-day duties.
If you are successful, you will work in our Customs facility at Unit D, Hayes 180, Uxbridge Road, UB4 OJN.
